Introducing WAD APP

This work project revolved around the design and development of an app aimed at streamlining the process of order and estimate management for a company. The objective was to create an intuitive and efficient tool that would enhance productivity and provide a seamless user experience. The project began with a paper prototype, which evolved into an embossed version to cater to a visually impaired stakeholder. Extensive research, including the use of affinity diagrams, personas, customer journey mapping, and competitive analysis, played a pivotal role in informing the app’s design. The app also incorporated advanced features, such as an AR measurement tool called Smart Scale, and was integrated with HubSpot and WordPress for enhanced functionality.

The project kicked off with the creation of a paper prototype, allowing the team to explore different design concepts and gather feedback. Recognizing the need for accessibility, an embossed version of the prototype was developed specifically to cater to the visually impaired stakeholder, ensuring inclusivity and usability for all users.

Extensive research was conducted, with findings organized into an affinity diagram. This method helped identify common themes, pain points, and desired features, forming the basis for the app’s design and functionality. Personas were created to represent the target users, providing valuable insights into their needs, preferences, and goals.

To gain a deeper understanding of the user journey, customer journey mapping was employed. This exercise helped identify touchpoints, pain points, and opportunities for improvement throughout the order and estimate management process. Competitive analysis allowed the team to identify industry trends, benchmark against existing solutions, and incorporate innovative features to differentiate the app.

A key feature of the app was the AR measurement tool, Smart Scale, which leveraged augmented reality technology to provide accurate measurements. This feature streamlined the estimation process and enhanced the user experience, allowing for precise measurements without the need for additional tools or manual calculations.

The development phase involved building the app’s interface and integrating it with existing systems, such as HubSpot and WordPress. Seamless integration with these platforms allowed for seamless data synchronization, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual data entry.
